Disciplines:
                  1) The violin in the 20th Century (11th-24th)
                  2) The viola in the 20th Century (11th-24th)
                  3) The violoncello in the 20th Century (13th-24th)
                  4) The double-bass in the 20th Century (13th-24th)
                  5) The quartet in the 20th Century (15th-24th)
                  6) The strings in the 20th Century (16th-24th)

Deadline for applications and documents: 30th September 2002 for all performance competitions

Age limit: for violinists, violists, cellists, double-bassists from every country who were born after 31st December 1969 and for string quartet or strings or ensemble with strings players from every country who were born after 31st December 1966.

Prizes: Three prizes for each performance competition:
1?Prize: a scholarship of Euro 6,200.00;
2?Prize: a scholarship of Euro 4,100.00;
3? Prize: a scholarship of Euro 2,600.00 and for each semifinalist Euro 1,300.000.

Obligatory pieces of V. Bucchi Prize for the 2002 performance competitions:
for violin competition: concerto lirico per violino e archi, riduzione per violino e pianoforte
for viola competition: Soliloquios per viola sola
for cello competition: Ison per violoncello solo
for double-bass competition: concerto grottesco per contrabbasso e archi, riduzione per contrabbasso e pianoforte
for string quartet competition: quartetto per archi (partitura e parti staccate)
for strings:
- Un incipit per archi (3 violin I - 3 violins II - 2 Violas - 2 cellos - 1 double-bass (the instruments can be doubled);
- Fantasia per orchestra d'archi;
- Serenata per 11 strumenti (1 flute - 1 clarinet - 1 bassoon - 1 horn - 1 trumpet - 1 trombone - 1 violin - 1 viola - 1 cell - 1 double-bass);
- Concerto di concerti per archi (con violino, viola, cello e contrabbasso obbligati).
